The HUUSD School Board met in person (with an option for remote participation) last Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
The meeting began with public comment. Brian Fleischer discussed the Public Comment portion of the meetings, as well as requested that the impacts of state property tax assistance payments be included in budgetary information.
Board Reports:
There were no board reports.
Topics for discussion: Lisa Estler provided an overview of the revised proposed $48,888,319 budget and information to provide to the community before the upcoming vote.
In action items, the Board:
- Approved a motion to put forward the revised budget of $48,888,319.
- Approved a motion to warn the budget for an April 30, 2024 vote.
- Approved a motion to establish an ad hoc Public Information Committee and to appoint Bobbi and Steve to that committee.

Additionally, at the beginning of each Board meeting, we invite public comment. Alternatively, reach out to one of your neighbors who is on the school board and share your thoughts in a personal email or phone call (see a list of Board members and contact information at).
