The HUUSD School Board met in person (with an option for remote participation) last Wednesday, 9/27/23.
The meeting began with public comment:

Noone requested time to address the Board.
Board Reports:
- Superintendent - Dr. Mike reviewed the information he had provided in his written report, highlighted upcoming work with Dyane Carrere, and answered questions from Board members.
- Director of Finance - Lisa highlighted some of the information included in her written report, and answered questions from the Board.
- Board Reports - Bobbi provided an update on the Professional Development committee and will be sending out a survey for board members.
Topics for discussion:

MTSS (Multi-tiered Systems of Support) Presentation - Mandy Couturier provided an overview of the MTSS framework and how the tiers are planned to be put into practice to benefit all students, and answered related questions from members of the Board.
In action items, the Board:
- Adopt the following policies:
- A1 Role and Adoption of School Board Policies
- B1 Board Member Education
- G21 Proficiency-Based Graduation Requirements
- Approved a motion to warn the following policies:
- D7 Volunteers and Work Study Students
- D11 Drug & Alcohol Testing: Transportation Employees
- E8 Tobacco Prohibition

The Board welcomes feedback from our community and one of the easiest ways to share your thoughts is to send an email to [email protected], which will go to every Board member. Additionally, at the beginning of each Board meeting we invite public comment. Alternately, reach out to one of your neighbors who is on the school board and share your thoughts in a personal email or phone call (see a list of Board members and contact information at).
The Board’s next meeting will be on Wednesday Oct 11, 2023 at 6 PM.
